Abstract

This thesis is representing about geology and petrography study and geochemistry of granite in the study area which is Bukit Sukat, Kuala Krai, Kelantan, Based on the geological map with 1:25,000, this study area is located within longitude 102° 13’ 31.86” E to 102° l6’ 14.52” E and latitude 5°32’ 21.60” N to 5°29’ 38.95” E. This study area is covering 25km3 . The objectives of this study is to produce detail 1125,00 geological map of the study area, for study the igneous rock based on the petrographic and geochemical analysis and also to better understanding the nature of the granite in tenn of its tectonic setting and history of origin. Several types of igneous rock was found in the study area which are granite, andesite and gabbro that predictly appeared during middle Triassic and upper Jurassic as well as sedimentary rock that predictly appeared during Permian period. Metamorphic rock also found in the study area. Specification study had be done to identify types of mineral in the rock sample by using XRF analysis as a geochemistry analysis. IUGS classification also used to classify name of rock for detail. As a conclusion, geological map with 1:25,000 and rock unit map are produced.
