a novel approach in the poems of forugh farrokhzad

Modernism began to flow in contemporary and poetry of Iran, a little before the constitutional period by several intellectual poets whom were familiar to the West. This change, at first was in structure and appearance of poem, but over, it also influenced the content of the lyrics and themes. Persian poetry due to political changes and discussing about new issues, took a new way and poets attended significantly to the west culture and poetry and imposed their poetry modernism in own works. Following the change, many of poets led themselves to this progress and pick up addressing new concepts and ideas. Definitely one of the leading figures of the movement in Iran is Forough Farrokhzad. Her poetry is a prime example of modernism and many of the components and characteristics of modernity is capable in her poetry. In current study, we investigated her modernity in thought and content and language in her poetry and after proposing the theoretical aspects related to this topic, we paid with examples to explain characteristics and components of modernity in content and language of Forough Farrokhzad’s poetry.
