Abstract
This work addresses a PID controller design for high-order processesvia internal model control (IMC) scheme. The equivalent feedback controller of IMC scheme is generally not in a PI/PID controller form. It is approximated to PI/PID controller form using different approximation technique. Here PID controller has been obtained from equivalent feedback controller using approximate frequency response matching. The design method has been validated through simulation of various problems reported in recent literature.
