Abstract
The purpose of this chapter is to provide an overview of organizational learning and inter-organizational knowledge transfer. The authors discuss the nature of organizational learning and the multiple schools of thought on how organizations learn and develop knowledge. They elaborate further on one of the schools of thought – the process school – and the various stages that organizations go through in the learning process. Additionally, the authors provide an overview of how knowledge is transferred between organizations and the contexts and mechanisms through which this transfer takes place.
