Abstract

In this second part of the paper, guidelines are given for the estimation of the discharge, the waterway required and the minimum depth of the foundations. The paper then discusses in detail the factors which need consideration in selecting the most suitable type of bridge from the point of view of economy and the conditions under which various classifications of simply supported superstructures are economical.
