The price of crude oil firstly went higher than 70 US dollars per barrel in 2005,and the global chemical industry faced again the challenge from higher cost of energy sources and raw materials.The chemical production in major countries of chemical industry came up in 2005,except the go-down in USA for the cyclonic attacks in it.The chemical trade among countries flourished,and the profit of the companies kept increasing,with the scale-up of investment.They wish to improve their competitive power via more integration.
