MOLLUSCICIDAL EFFECTS OF TWENTY BENZOTHIENGLYOXYLONITRILE PHOSPHATES AND THE STRENTHENING EFFECT WHEN MIXED WITH NAPCP

Abstract

An experiment was carried out to test the effects of 9 compounds of benzothienglyoxylonitrile phosphates and 11 compounds of benzothienglyoxylonitrile thiophosphates on Oncomelania hupensis. The results showed that comp-2 and comp-11 had high molluscicidal effects, of which the LD50 were 1. 1219. 1. 0718 mg/L at 48 hours and were 0. 7754, 1. 0231 mg/L at 72 hours respectively.When each compound mixed with NaPCP in 1 : 1 by weight, the mixture of comp-2. comp-4, comp-11 showed higher molluscicidal effects. Those compounds, as suggested in the experiment, are worthwhile to be tested in the field. This experiment also revealed that the molluscicidal effect of benzothienglyoxylonitrile phosphates was better than that of benzothienglyoxylonitrile thiophosphates when they mixed with NaPCP.
