Abstract
In the past decades employee motivation has been associated with financial rewards or incentives to employees. However, in the recent past, there has been an attempt to appreciate the role of intrinsic employee motivation in the public organizations since extrinsic motivation seems to be effective in the short-run.This article addresses the need to adopt intrinsic motivation techniques to secure long time relationships and work performance commitment.
