Abstract
Through analyzing the basic status of water resources on supply and demand in Jilin City, we came to the conclusion that water resources distribute unevenly in space and time, and per capita water resource is extremely low in the downtown. The demand of water in the base year is mainly been satisfied, but with the development of economy and society, probably the shortage of water resource would exist in Jilin City in the future. The development and utilization rate of water resources is 37.5% in Jilin and the utilization efficiency of water resources is lower than nearby cities. In general, these issues caused Jilin under a moderate to high water shortage stress. Based on these researches, this paper puts forward some countermeasures on optimal methods of water supply. First, improve the level of water resources dispatching and construct hydraulic engineering. Second, adjust industrial and agricultural structures to match the distribution of water resources. Then, confine the exploiting of ground water and increase the proportion of surface water supply of the total water supply. At last, increase the utilization efficiency of water resources through improving agricultural water utilization structures and increasing repetitive use rate of industrial water.
