Abstract

This annual report provides a summary of the state of the nation's transportation systems and statistics. This second edition includes a thematic treatment of the Economic Performance of Transportation. The theme illustrates the trends in and factors governing productivity of transportation service providers, the contribution that public investments in transportation make to the overall economy, and the impacts of economic growth and the change on the use and costs of highways, aviation, water transportation, public transit, rail transportation and pipelines.
