Abstract

Based on the characteristics of nitrogen(N) absorption and accumulation in different types of wheat, the research focus was putting on achieving high yield, increasing nitrogen application efficiency and improving grain quality by reasonable fertilizer application. The differences of nitrogen absorption and utilization and regulation techniques among three types of wheat for different end uses,ie strong-gluten wheat variety Wanmai 38,medium-gluten wheat varieties Yangmai 10 and Huaimai 18 and weak-gluten wheat variety Ningmai 9,were studied from 2000 to 2002.The results indicated that different amounts of N to produce 100 kg of grain(NPAG) would be absorbed in wheat varieties for different end uses, and the suitable utilization rate of N fertilizer(NUR) was also different.According to the test results,to produce grain yield more than 7 500 kg/ha with suitable protein content(greater than 14% for strong-gluten wheat and greater than 12% for medium-gluten wheat),the reasonable NPAG and NUR were about 3.2 kg(2.9~3.2 kg) and 68%(58%~78%)for Wanmai 38,about 2.9 kg(2.6~2.9 kg) and 55%(50%~60%)for Yangmai 10,about 2.8 and 55% for Huaimai 18,while to produce grain more than 6 750 kg/ha with protein content less than 11.5%,those were about 2.5 kg(2.4~2.8 kg) and 50%(45%~55%) for Ningmai 9.
