Abstract

An adaptive sliding controller will be proposed for the control of an interior permanent-magnet (IPM) synchronous motor-drive. A backstepping-like design is used to deal with the mismatched-uncertainties problem and the function approximation method is employed to transform the uncertainties into finite combinations of orthonormal basis functions. Adaptive laws are derived based on the Lyapunov-like design.
