Abstract

In this paper we present the novel method of classification of through hole capacitors into two categories reusable and defective capacitors. Classification of three types of capacitors viz. color coded capacitors, ceramic disc capacitors and electrolyte capacitors has been achieved by applying profile based technique. Proposed method performs well under different background, different scaling, and illumination levels. Proposed method is fast as compared with template matching.
