Abstract
This study assessed the present state of organizational citizenship behaviors of the members of hospital organizations and assumed that their demographic characteristics and job satisfaction would affect organizational citizenship behavior.BR Job satisfaction was divided into five factors, including identification with an organization, participation in decision-making, satisfaction with the working environment, satisfaction with wage and satisfaction with goal achievement, while organizational citizenship behaviors were divided into altruistic behavior and participatory behavior. This model was verified based on the data in a survey conducted with the employees in hospital organizations. The results of the research survey can be summarized as follows:BR First, of the factors of organizational citizenship behaviors, there were significant differences in altruistic behavior according to age, the number of years of employment and hospital type, while there were significant differences in participatory behavior according to age, the level of education, the number of years of employment in the present workplace and the number of years of employment in the medical profession.BR Second, it turned out that, of the five factors of job satisfaction, only satisfaction with the working environment and participation in decision-making affect altruistic behavior of organizational citizenship behaviors.BR Third, it turned out that, of the five factors of job satisfaction, participation in decision-making, satisfaction with the working environment, satisfaction with wage and satisfaction with goal achievement affect participatory behavior of organizational citizenship behaviors.BR In sum, the results of the study suggest that it would be necessary to increase job satisfaction to promote the organizational citizenship behaviors of the members of hospital organization.
