Abstract
Rural tourism is a village that has a distinctive tourism attraction. Therefore, local community play an important role in rural tourism development because the resources and uniqueness of traditions and culture inherent in the community is the main driving element of rural tourism activities. Participation of all community elements is indispensable in the rural tourism development. Community participation can be seen from the planning, implementation, decision-making, and benefits. However, in order to make effective participation required information related to community perceptions regarding the development of rural tourism development. This study aims to describe the variables used in measuring the relationship between perception and the level of community participation. This study was conducted using the secondary data analysis method which relevant. The results of this study reveal that there is a relationship between perception and the level of community participation.
