While farm export earnings are expected to decline markedly, the value of Australia's commodity exports is forecast to remain just over $90 billion in 2002-03. Reflecting a significant reduction in crop production, export earnings from farm commodities are forecast to fall by 7.4 per cent to $28.7 billion in 2002-03. The value of Australia's minerals and energy exports is forecast to rise by 4.2 per cent to $57.8 billion in 2002-03.
