Abstract
As an emerging market, Turkey started to develop its investor relations in the 1990s. In the early years, investor relations departments were arranged as shareholder departments and they were not mandatory until 2008. In 2014, these shareholder relations department were redefined as investor relations departments. This chapter, which deals with investor relations in Turkey, focuses on the developments that boosted investor relations management, legal arrangements in the area, and the existing practices of investor relations in Turkey in the context of Turkey's economic progress. The chapter also presents the profiles of professionals working in the area, examines the situation of new communication technologies in the context of investor relations, and discusses the use of nonfinancial information in investor relations management, particularly in terms of a developing market.
