Abstract
In this chapter, first the optical regulations of low-beam and high-beam headlamps are introduced. Then the specific requirements of LED packaging modules for headlamp applications are introduced, and related practical ASLP is designed in detail. Based on basic information on LED headlamps, different kinds of optical design methods based on freeform optics are introduced, including Fresnel-freeform lenses, a freeform optics integrated poly-ellipsoid system (PES), freeform reflectors, and low-beam–high-beam integrated double-beam freeform optics. A practical freeform optics design case of each design method is described in detail, and experimental analyses of some design cases are also included.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
