Abstract
This dissertation a attempt to bring together all the factors of velocity for an offshore sailing monohull without any limit but the logic, the first principles of physics, naval architecture, the handling and the safety concern. The main subjects involved are sailing equilibrium and various part of hydrodynamic. With the help of studied comparable boats, towing tank experiments and some will of originality, it produces a deeply revisited concept of racing monohull that is finally hybrid with multihulls on most of the major points.
