Reorganization During Combat - Considerations for a Mechanized Infantry Company

The principal purpose of this thesis was to put that reorganization process into its proper perspective; to describe reorganization doctrine where it existed; and to identify and define those aspects of reorganization doctrine that do not exist. Objectives are: To provide historical examples of combat unit reorganization; To identify existing doctrine on the reorganization process at the infantry company level; To define the reorganization process at the mechanized infantry company level; To identify factors having positive and negative impacts on the combat unit reorganization process; To provide reorganization insights to assist force structure analysts and comabt unit trainers in their respective tasks.
