Abstract

Field experiment was conducted during two consecutive kharif season of 2012 and 2013 to evaluate the bioeffiacy of new molecule of insecticides against okra shoot and fruit borer, Earias vittella and fruit borer, Helicoverpa armigera at Main Agricultural Research Station, Raichur. The pooled data represents that among all the treatments the emamectin benzoate 5 WG @ 7.50 g a.i/ha were recorded minimum mean larval population of Shoot and fruit borer, E vittella (0.33) per plant and Fruit borer, H. armigera (0.73) and with a minimum shoot and fruit damage of 1.43 and 6.05 per cent respectively. The highest fruit yield of 84.96 q/ha were noticed. The next best treatments in terms of efficacy were observed in emamectin benzoate 5 WG @ 6.25 and 8.50 g a.i/ha which recorded maximum yield of 82.62 and 81.41 q/ha which are at par with each other. The lowest yield was noticed in untreated control 43.00 q/ha.
