Abstract

Semiconductor detectors have been used to measure the kinetic energy spectra of fragments from fission of /sup 226/Ra by 7-MeV neutrons at angles of 0 and 90/sup 0/ to the neutron beam. Analysis of the spectra shows that the fractions of symmetric fission at these angles are identical, amounting to 0.15 +- 0.03. This result corresponds to equality of the anisotropies of symmetric and asymmetric fission within 25%. (AIP)
