Abstract

Heavy metal pollution, which causes soil quality decrease, ecosystem degeneration, crops contamination and influences on human health, has become one of the most serious environmental problems today in mining and the surrounding areas. Recently, bioremediation has attracted special attention and gained remarkable developments. This paper introduced bioremediation technologies, which include phytoremediation, microbial remediation and plant-microbe remediation methods. At the same time, advantages and disadvantages of technology and their future development were reviewed. Solid wastes and acid water caused heavy mental enriched in soil surrounding mine, according to bioremediation and its application,an assumption was made to remedy heavy metal contaminated soils in whole and development trend was predicted including introducing genetic engineering into phytoremediation, constructing remediation system of mycorrhiza, plant and microorganism to promote bioremediation.
