Abstract
R J Bell New York: Academic Press 1972 pp xvii + 382 price $19·50 Fourier transform interferometry dates back to 1880 with Michelson's invention of his interferometer. Michelson could not exploit the technique because he lacked computers and electronic detectors but now that these are available transform spectroscopy has rapidly become a widely applied technique.
