Abstract

Sinocyclocheilus guanyangensis, new species, is described from the Li-Jiang basin in Guanyang County, Guangxi, South China. It is distinguished from all congeners by its vestigial eyes, conical snout, no hump at junction between head and back, more lateral line scales, longer maxillary barbels, and last unbranched dorsal-fin ray soft without serration along posterior margin.
