Improving Outcomes for Young People Leaving Care

Abstract

A discussion on the need to improve outcomes for young people leaving care is presented. State initiatives for child protection and family welfare set out under the 'Directions for out of home care' are described. Several existing leaving care services offered by the Victorian Department of Human Services, including post care support, mentoring and housing and case managed support, are examined.
