New Leaving Care Initiatives in Victoria

Abstract
The Children's Welfare Association of Victoria representing over 80 community-based organisations providing services to children, young people and families is the key advocate for improving leaving care supports. After non-government advocacy and the Victorian Homeless Strategy showed concerns, the Department of Health Services established two trial housing and support projects to assist young care leavers aged 16-18 years.
