Abstract
Evaluated are EPA regulations enacted in 1978 to prevent significant deterioration of air quality. The regulations were designed to guide state implementation plans for air quality control. The Clean Air Act of 1977 and EPA's subsequent regulations are more stringent than previous air quality standards were. The structure and requirements of the current EPA air quality regulations are reviewed. (127 references)
