Abstract
3D modeling is the most important and essential work in the field of virtual reality technology. In the virtual scenes, the realistic appearances of models are required and some objects should have complex behaviors and good interactivity. In addition, high real-time property is required in VR systems, so the simplification and optimization of modeling data is also very important. In this paper, two types of 3D modeling methods of 3DS MAX and VRML are analyzed and compared. On this basis, the combined method and technique of 3DS MAX and VRML are proposed to produce more sophisticated virtual scenes with strong interaction.
