Abstract

The Registry Week campaign was initially developed in the United States of America (USA) and the first Australian Registry Week was held in Brisbane in June 2010. Subsequently, it has been run in Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Townsville and the Nepean area of New South Wales. The aim of the campaign has been to systematically identify the most vulnerable people experiencing homelessness on the streets and link them directly with housing; while providing immediate assistance to those most in need.
