Abstract

Brazil occupies a distinctive place in the implementation of basic income, with the creation of the Bolsa Escola (school stipend) in 1995 and the Bolsa Familia (family stipend) in 2004. The country is also distinctive because programmes have been established at municipal, state and federal levels.
