Abstract
This chapter presents the twelve step process given by the author. Step one is to obtain commitment from senior management team towards developing KPIs. Next step is to establish a winning KPI team that works full time on the project. The following step is to establish a just-do-it culture and process. Next is setting up a holistic KPI development strategy. The following task is to market the KPIs to employees to maximize their support and commitment. Next step is to identify organization-wide critical success factors. Next is recording of performance measures in database. After that team-level performance measures are determined. It is followed by selecting the organizational winning KPIs. After that, there is a need to develop the reporting framework at all levels. Next step is to facilitate the use of winning KPIs. The final step in the process is to refine KPIs to maintain their relevance.
