Abstract
Traces the origin development and applications of informetrics in the field of information science. Acceptance of the generic term 'informetrics' to denote various studies applying quantitative methods is suggested. Application of informetric methods is spreading to more areas like measurement of information and retrieval performance assessment. More research in the field of informetrics is to be done with emphasis on the new developments.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
