In the postwar decades, nuclear arms control and disarmament issues arose in the three interrelated domains of British nuclear weapons, superpower nuclear arms and the horizontal proliferation of nuclear capabilities. Most but not exclusive attention here is devoted to the parties’ policy regarding Britain’s nuclear capability as this domain was most amenable to decisions by UK politicians.
