Abstract

A hybrid rattlesnake is described from the Peloncillo Mountains of southwestern New Mexico, USA. This specimen possesses features that favor either Crotalus lepidus or C. willardi, but it is easily distinguished from either of these presumed parental species. Crotalus willardi is reported for the first time from the Peloncillo Mountains.
