Abstract

Allozyme data are used to investigate the parentage of an aberrant rattlesnake from west Texas. A phylogenetic evaluation of the electrophoretic data leads to the hypothesis that the specimen is a hybrid between the Mojave rattlesnake, Crotalus scutulatus, and the prairie rattle- snake, C. viridis viridis.
