Abstract

中国における主要な緑化用灌木である Caragana korshinskii Kom.について,種子サイズによる実生の乾燥耐性の違いを評価した。小種子(20~37 mg) 由来の実生の乾燥重量は大種子(73~90 mg) 由来の実生の60 %程度だったが,どちらにも乾燥ストレスによる成長抑制はみられなかった。小種子由来の実生はバイオマスは小さいものの分枝が少なく良く伸長する根を持ち,その結果根の最大到達深度は種子サイズ間であまり違いが無かった。C. korshinskii は種子サイズにかかわらず根の伸長能力が高く,種子サイズによる乾燥耐性の違いは小さいと考えられた。
