Abstract
This paper describes in detail the conodont sequence across the Carboniferous Permian boundary in Luodian and Ziyun of South Guizhou. The following conodont zones can be recognized in descending order: Streptognathodus barskovi, S. constrictus, S. isolatus, S. wabaunsensis, S. tenuialveus and S. firmus zones. The first occurrence of Streptognathodus isolatus is considered as the base of the Permian. The correlation of the conodont sequences across the Carboniferous Permian boundary between China and Kazakhstan, as well as North America is discussed.
