Abstract
The leukostasis syndrome is a severe complication of leukemias with hyperleukocytosis. The pathogenesis, manifestations, and management of this syndrome are presented. The early diagnosis and aggressive therapy of leukostasis are likely to increase the complete remission rate in acute leukemias with hyperleukocytosis.
