Abstract
Based on the traditional strength reduction FEM, the variability of geotechnical parameters is introduced. The slope stability problems can be solved by the reliability theory combined with strength reduction FEM, at the same time, in the numerical calculation program, the realization process of slope instability evaluation criteria is improved. The slope safety factor gained through modified method has probabilistic characteristic, and conforms to the reality. Which, along with the slope failure probability value, can be used to guide the slope design and construction more precisely.
