Requirement of the international community on fishery statistics and ponderation over improvement of Chinese fishery statistics.

The international community has already combined development of fishery with food security.The development and utilization of aquatic resources have become an inevitable trend to open up a new space for mankind's survival and development.More and more attention has been paid to protection of fishery resources and ecological environment.Meanwhile,the international community carries out increasingly stringent management of fishery and improves legal system.The international fishery makes specific requirements on fishery statistics.This thesis briefly introduces relevant requirements of fishery statistics from three international fishery laws,which are Nations' Convention on Law of Sea and Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries, and the implementation of December 10,1982 United Nations' Convention on Law of Ocean relating to Conservation and Management of Straddling Fish Stocks and Highly Migratory Fish Stocks in provisions of agreement and analyzes development trend of fishery statistics.From ideological understanding and establishing,this thesis gives some suggestions such as legislation to strengthen fishery statistics,accelerate building of fishery statistics system etc.on how to improve Chinese fishery statistics system.
