Most teenagers believe that it is both healthy and fashionable to have a glowing suntan. However, the long-term hazardous effects of sun exposure have been well documented, and are the focus of this chapter. Discussion also encompasses sun reactions, the tanning response, recommended sunscreen protection factors, and abnormal responses to sun.
