Abstract
In this paper, the South Devon beef cattle and Piedmont beef cattle were used to improve the local yellow cattle's production performance. The result showed that among the hybrids of South Devon and local yellow cattle,83.33% of them had red hair, while 16.67% had other color hair.As to 6-month body weight, the South Devon cattle1s hybrid was higher than Piedmont beef cattle`s hybrid and local yellow cattle,by 77.89 and 96.03(P0.01),while the chest girth obviously higher than them by 26.74 and 47.54(P0.01).So,the South Devon beef cattle can obviously improbve the production performance of local yellow cattle.
