Abstract

Objective To study clinical curative effect of cataract phacoemulsification or small incision cataract extracapsular extraction for treatment of senile cataract. Methods 114 cases with senile cataract in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups. Group A was given cataract phacoemulsification treatment. Group B was given small incision extracapsular cataract extraction treatment. The viaual acuity and astigmatism degree after one week,three months and complication incidence were observed. Results The viaual acuity postoperative three days of group B was significantly higher than that of group A( P 0. 05). But after one month and three months,viaual acuity of group A was higher than group B,but there was no statistically significant difference( P 0. 05). The astigmatism degree postoperative one month and three months had no statistical significance between two groups( P 0. 05). But astigmatism degree postoperative one month of two groups were both significantly higher than that of preoperative( P 0. 05). When the nuclear hardness less than class three,the postoperative complication between two groups had no significant difference( P 0. 05). When the nuclear hardness more than class four,the postoperative complication between two groups had significant difference( P 0. 05). Conclusion Cataract phacoemulsification and small incision cataract extracapsular extraction in patients with senile cataract have significant clinical efficacy. But when the nuclear hardness more than class four,small incision cataract extracapsular extraction can improve eye vision,has fewer complications and high safety,is worthy of clinical promotion.
