Abstract

Fast photoacoustic imaging systems, based on rotating multi-element linear transducer array, can improve the effect of asymmetric projection and reconstruct the photoacoustic image of complex absorbers. The simulation and experiments of photoacoustic images of rotating multi-element linear transducer array demonstrated that this kind of system could reconstruct images indicating the optical absorption distribution of absorbers. It will provides a novel and effective photoacoustic imaging approach for clinic diagnosis of neoplasm and tissue functional imaging in vivo, and has potential to be developed into a practical apparatus.
