Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To study the status quo and the development tendency of the utilization of oral antihypertensive drugs in our hospital.METHODS: By DDD(defined day dose) analysis, the utilization of oral antihypertensive drugs in our hospital between 2006 and 2008 were analyzed statistically in respect of the consumption sum,DDDs,DDC etc.RESULTS: The varieties, quantities and consumption sum of oral antihypertensive drugs in our hospital increased year by year during 2006~2008.The consumption sum in 2007 was 1.47 times that of 2006 and the consumption sum in 2008 was 1.14 times that of 2007.Leading the first three places in terms of DDDs over the 3 years were nifedipine delayed-release tablet, metoprolol and perindopril in order.CONCLUSION: The market demand for oral antihypertensive drugs has been increasing, with the imported or those from join ventures assuming a dominant place. The oral antihypertensive drugs with good efficacy, convenient in administration and fewer side effects have become the trend in clinical practice.
