Thoughts on the Building of Grassroots Democracy in Rural Areas of China in Recent 30 Years

For 30 years of institutional innovation and social practice,China has gradually established the rural grassroots democratic self-government system which adapts to China's economic and social development.The development process of this system provides us with some enlightenment: only when the Party's leadership,people as masters and the law are combined together can grassroots democracy in the rural areas of China develop smoothly and successfully.More efforts should,in the future,be put to improve the relevant laws and regulations and to found a coordinative relationship between the township government and the village committee.At the same time,the grassroots government should also help to improve villagers' democracy quality so as to lay a solid foundation on the rural grassroots democracy.
