The Severance, Dissension and Accommodation of the Tradition on the Interllectural History and the Social History in the Mainstream of History of Science

The interllectural history and the social history are two traditional research areas in the mainstream of history of science. The development of the two branches in history has turned out to be the history of historiography of science. Based on a systematic analysis on the severance and dissension of interllectural history and social history, the paper states that the complement and accommodation of the two traditions have become the new trend in the development of historiography of science at the turn of the new century.
