Abstract
Zhang Qi was one of the representative writers of Yanghu Classical Prose School.He advocated that classical prose writing should learn from ancient writers,and that it must serve the purpose of satisfying the needs of the present society.His theory had improved the theoretical system of Yanghu Classical Prose School,and had been one of the indispensable parts of it.In addition,a number of Zhang Qi's historical essays in Wanlin Corpus (宛邻集) not only had showed a high degree of artistic achievement of his classical prose writing,but also had better reflected Zhang Qi's theory that classical prose writing should be useful to reality.Today,we should think much of Zhang Qi and his classical prose theory.
