The belonging of 5 representative genetic soil profiles in the north of Hebei in Chinese soil taxonomy

In order to understand the belongs of representative genetic soils-brown soil and cinnamon soil in the north of Hebei province in Chinese soil taxonomy,2 brown soil and 3 cinnamon soil profiles in the north of Hebei were researched in this paper.By field investigation,profile description,analysis of physic and chemical properties of soils,soil genetic characteristics were studied.On the basis of the keys to Chinese soil taxonomy(3rd edition),the authors identified diagnostic horizons and diagnostic characteristics of the profiles and determined the belongs of the profiles in taxonomy.Results show that: 5 representative soil profiles in the north of Hebei province could be sorted into 3 soil orders(Cambisols,Entisols,Luvisols),3 suborders,4 groups,4 subgroups.In addition,the paper studied soil families and soil series of 5 representative soil profiles and firstly decided 5 families and 5 series here.
